Job Description

Primary responsibilities include managingsafety, production, on-time delivery and profitability, and quality of the production process. The individual in this role will provideleadershipin the Continuous Improvement Program, and drive accountability throughout the manufacturing operation. Key relationships with Production Planning and Maintenance / Engineering personnel will be critical to success in this role.
Specific responsibilities include;
Drives and coordinates daily activities of Production process through the manufacturing & process leads on all shifts. Removes Production constraints, allocates human and equipment resources, and directs Production employees to attain all Production goals. Actively participates in root cause and corrective action implementation to remove Production constraints and continuously improve product quality.
Aggressively directs improvement in safety, product quality, service and cost efficiency.
Ensure that all employees follow all applicable process SOP, test methods, and EHS guidelines to ensure a safe workplace and the quality of Production batches.
Drives a culture of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement while providingoperational leadership to coordinate the manufacturing process and achieve the goal of first run capability through operational efficiency.
Removes waste and constraints from the Production processes to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
Actively participates in the Plant Quality Team, led by the Quality Manager, to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions for all Production batch recalls, correction batches, batches requiring additional straining, batches that are toted for recycling or disposal, and batches that pose an atypical manufacturing constraint.
Coordinates the proper segregation and recycling of all Production wash and rework with the Quality Manager, capitalizing upon every recycling opportunity and ensuring that only approved wash and rework is added to approved host batches. Completes and records all recycling and rework documentation.
Coordinates Production equipment modifications and adjustments with the Regional Engineers
Supports development of paint operations staff to meet competency and performance expectations.

Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related technical area or equivalent relative experience.
5+ years progressive manufacturing management/leadership experience with responsibility for an entire department or shift.
Knowledge of paint or chemical processing is desirable.
Demonstrated strong leadership,team building and advanced coaching skills
Professional demeanor, leads by example, and is self motivated
Proven results through the development of team implemented cost reduction, lean and continuous improvement programs.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills are a must.
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
Advanced computer skills
Occasional travel is required
Work backshifts as needed
