JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Superior Group is seeking a Production Planner for a growing manufacturing company located in Amherst, NY.
This role will be responsible for the planning and establishment of production schedules for manufacturing of various components based upon customer orders and forecasts. This is an exciting, direct hire opportunity with decision making capability, and the chance to make in impact with the business.
The candidate will work in a cross functional environment to plan all production activities based upon customer data inputs and plant capacity.
Set a rolling production schedule ensuring on-time delivery and supports the Production department to ensure efficient production flow.
Works closely with Engineering on the generation of documentation and data to assure efficient new product launch.
Evaluates and manages expedited order process, and makes suggestions concerning improvements to systems and processes to this process.
Perform capacity analysis and establish reasonable lead times for existing model orders.
Coordinate outside service/material procurement with Purchasing.
Assist with strategic projects and otherwise help out as required.
Knowledge of SAP master data fields which drives forecasting, planning, production control and shipping functions.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
Must have at least 5 years of experience with planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment
3 years SAP experience
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
highly motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines
Smaller business, so expect to wear lots of hats!
Experience with ERP systems
