Principal Duties / Responsibilities:
As the Supervisor of Systems Area, you are responsible for supervising all activities associated with production assembly and test for both first and second shift. In this role you are expected to supervise operations and the activities of personnel assigned that perform a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive assembly, test, and troubleshooting operations on the full range of CTI products. In addition to accepting and carrying out assignments from the Production Manager and the senior management team you are principally responsible for the following:
General Supervision Responsibilities:
a) Meeting daily/weekly/monthly Production build plans.
b) Meet On Time Delivery Goals.
c) Monitor and continuously improve production flow and throughput.
d) Monitor and ensure acceptable quality levels are achieved and maintained.
e) Monitoring activities of personnel to ensure accuracy of materials consumed during assembly /test processes.
f) Implement LEAN Techniques, and facilitate KAIZEN events.
g) Work with other departments on NPI (New Product Introduction) activities.
h) Participate in cycle counting and other related activities associated with material controls within the electromechanical assembly area.
i) Responsible for ensuring that employees assigned are provided with appropriate levels of training and they are given the tools necessary to perform jobs assigned.
j) Excellent attendance record.
k) Accepting other tasks as assigned.
Environmental / Work Conditions:
a. Responsible for maintaining neat and orderly working environments in all areas of responsibility.
b. Responsible for assuring safety in all areas of responsibility
c. Responsible for complying with all laws governing the storage handling and disposal of hazardous material; and all laws governing environmental health and safety of employees.
Quality Management System:
a. Participating with Manufacturing Engineering in the Development and Documentation of processes associated with production activities.
b. Develop / Maintain job descriptions for all employees assigned.
c. Provide Training for all employees in accordance with internal policies.
d. Audit internal processes as required.
e. Ensure department wide compliance with policies / procedures established.
a. Maintain production lead times as required.
b. Monitor system to ensure that shop orders are started and completed on time.
c. Monitoring the accuracy of material transactions.
d. Working with the Master Scheduler to plan / schedule production related activities
e. Monitoring / maintaining production labor standards with Manufacturing Engineering.
f. Assisting with the implementation of Shop Floor Controls for production that require multiple operations (i.e. repairs).
a. Ensuring that product quality exceeds production yields of 98% for workmanship.
b. Ensuring that a review of all test rejects take place with production personnel when appropriate.
c. Identifying problems in a timely manner and initiating corrective actions.
a. Increasing productivity by recommending alternative processes and tooling that meet design objectives.
a. Monitoring forecast and customer demand to ensure adequate manpower to support delivery schedules and revenue targets.
Knowledge: Required To Perform the Job:
(Knowledge is learning acquired by study, observation, formal schooling or experience.)
a) Able to work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and verbal / written instructions.
b) Proficient in the use of a variety of test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other input / output electronic test devices.
c) Able to discuss technical problems encountered with supervisor.
d) Able to compile and record test results.
e) Adheres to company policies and procedures.
f) May be required to assist in the design of complex test equipment; and develop new procedures.
g) Must be able to read and understand diagnostic data.
h) Education: Some College Training and Technical training or equivalent experience
i) Experience: 5+ years as a production supervisor / technician or lead person.
j) General proficiencies: Familiar with assembly and material handling practices that ensure quality, ability to read engineering documentation and communicate requirements to personnel assigned; familiar with ERP applications (Oracle experience desirable) with emphasis on MRP and Shop Floor Controls.
