Professor of Teaching in Engineering Position

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a Professor of Teaching In Engineering position. This position falls under the Lecturer with Security of Employment series at the University of California; security of employment is analogous to tenure. The advertised position title is formally Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment; potential security of employment is analogous to tenure-track. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
A PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field, and three years of teaching experience is required. Candidates must have a passion for engineering education and demonstrated ability to contribute to student success. The position involves classroom and laboratory teaching; design project advising; administration of the Department s year-long capstone design course; development, support and assessment of best-practices for engineering education across the Department; and leadership on undergraduate curriculum development and accreditation initiatives. Along with excellence in teaching and service, externally recognized scholarship in pedagogy will be a requirement for advancement.
