Job Summary Statement:
Under the direction of the Program Director (CE) and the Program Manager (PRIII), the Program Assistant provides a wide range of administrative and program support for the UCLA Extension Entertainment Studies program. Duties include coordinating various logistical aspects of program planning and implementation such as reserving guest speaker parking, updating course syllabi and tracking information. Assist with the coordination and scheduling of special events and meetings, and serve as backup to the Events Coordinator (AAIII). Establish and maintain job board listings via the web and email, post and update information on the Entertainment Studies website and social media pages, and assist with special projects as needed.
Provide high level consistent customer service to instructors, students, colleagues and the general public.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships and provide excellent customer service to coworkers, managers, supervisors, customers/clients, and members of the public.
Ability to respond to conflict or problems in the workplace with equanimity.
Familiarity with using and posting to social media including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and knowledge of Wordpress highly preferred.
Ability and willingness to learn new skills and tasks and to maintain an open approach regarding performance feedback and guidance.
Ability to independently setup systems and processes in order to organize materials and information in a systematic way.
Ability to independently organize workflow and complete assignments in order of priority with frequent interruptions and distractions.
Ability to follow directions and respond effectively to changes in directions and plans.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events and to travel to off-site locations for events.
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability working with Excel, and Word for generation of correspondence, reports and database maintenance.
Writing, editing and proofreading skills sufficient to proof and/or compose correspondence, memos, reports, and draft copy that is clear, concise, and grammatically correct.
Reading skills sufficient to understand University and UNEX policies and procedures, correspondence, reports, copy and relevant media information.
Knowledge of Photoshop, Final Cut, Html, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of the entertainment industry.
