Program Associate- Nashville Teaching Fellows

A national nonprofit organization founded by teachers, TNTP is driven by the knowledge that effective teachers have a greater impact on student achievement than any other school factor. We are currently seeking a Program Associate for our Nashville Teaching Fellows Program.� This position will be based in the program office in Nashville, TN. This position is available immediately.

New Teacher Effectiveness and Nashville Teaching Fellows
�
TNTP�� s New Teacher Effectiveness Group is responsible for recruiting great teachers to teach in high-need schools and subject areas, and for preparing those teachers to be immediately effective in the classroom. TNTP�� s Teaching Fellows programs streamline the path to teaching for accomplished career changers and recent graduates. In 2011, TNTP recruited, selected and provided training to outstanding teachers in more than 20 cities and 18 states. In 9 of those states and the District of Columbia, TNTP is also approved to recommend teachers for certification through our rigorous, relevant preparation model, TNTP Academy, which has been shown to produce highly effective teachers. Building on this strong track record, TNTP is pioneering an evaluation program to recommend certification only for teachers who demonstrate their ability to advance student learning.

In Nashville, TNTP has managed such a program, the Nashville Teaching Fellows, since 2009, recruiting, selecting, and training nearly 270 teachers to date to teach in Metro Nashville Public Schools�� most high-need public schools.�

Role and Responsibilities ��" Program Associate
The Program Associate reports to the Senior Program Operations Manager. This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to have a profound impact on how teachers are prepared to teach in schools in Nashville.�
�
Specific responsibilities include:
�
-Managing day-to-day operations, including maintaining the applicant database and responding to candidate communications (email, telephone, and walk-in) in a timely manner
-Assisting in the planning, implementation, and tracking of teacher recruitment, selection, and hiring events
-Assisting in the logistical planning, implementation, and tracking of TNTP Academy sessions and other Fellow and staff training events
-Sending accurate communications (e-mail and physical letters) to applicants/Fellows in a timely manner
-Responding to candidate communications regarding their materials in a timely manner; support on additional program correspondence as needed
-Assisting in various data collection efforts essential to the successful implementation of the partnership
