EINSTEIN HEALTHCARE NETWORK IS A PRIVATE, NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION WITH SEVERAL MAJOR FACILITIES AND MANY OUTPATIENT CENTERS. OUR PRIMARY MISSION IS TO PROVIDE COMPASSIONATE, HIGH QUALITY HEALTHCARE TO THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA REGION. EINSTEIN HEALTHCARE NETWORK PROMOTES WELLNESS. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

* Accountability to the Department Chairman for all professional and administrative activities pertaining to the respective program

* Maintaining the integrity of the program to ensure compliance with the requirements of the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation

* Reviewing and updating the residency training program (curriculum) on an annual basis and revising the training manual on a periodic basis

* Serving as Chairman of the program Resident Selection Committee and directing resident recruitment and selection which must be done in accordance with departmental policies and hospital protocol. The Department Chairman is to be informed of the status of the process and outcome results

* Coordinating and conducting orientation lectures to incoming residents

* Coordinating didactic and clinical teaching material for the program as well as other department programs in consultation with respective Program Directors/Divisional Chairmen

* Arranging and assigning rotation of residents through other clinical services

* Directing the dental student extern program in accordance with the affiliation agreement between AEMC and the University of Pennsylvania Dental School of Medicine

* Recruiting and assigning faculty in consultation with the Department Chairman and Divisional Chairmen to ensure the fulfillment of the educational needs of the program

* Conducting regular program administrative meetings in accordance with hospital and accreditation agency policy

* Ensuring communication between residents, faculty, patients, and the training program

* Actively participating in didactic courses/literature review as necessary, and in accordance with his/her own areas of interest and expertise

* Participating in clinical instruction and supervision of residents which includes direct and indirect patient care. Supervision of patients, including observation of techniques, patient management skills, chart documentation, and financial case management

* Monitoring resident caseload for quality, diversity, and quantity

* Evaluating and monitoring resident and faculty performance in accordance with hospital and accreditation agency standards and reporting findings to the Department Chairman. Also recommending resident promotion and graduation as per institutional policy as well as disciplinary action as necessary

* Directing the Departments Quality Improvement Program to assure compliance with the Departmental/Hospital Quality Improvement Plan

* Ensuring programmatic compliance with the Departmental and Hospital Infection Control Programs. Monitoring and adjusting to meet changes in standards as necessary

* Assisting with departmental compliance pertaining to outside regulatory agency requirements (The Joint Commission, Department of Health, OSHA)

* Overseeing resident research projects. Stimulating research programs and promoting research activity with residents and faculty. Encouraging internal and external funding for research/special study projects and monitoring use of such funds

* Encouraging resident presentation and participation at regional and national meetings

* Participating directly in research/selected clinical studies with goal of publication in appropriate journals

* Recommending and monitoring programmatic expenses incurred in compliance with department and hospital budgets

* Participating in hospital and practice plan committees

* Attending medical staff semi-annual meetings in accordance with the Medical Staff By-laws. Attending at resident presentation conferences, which includes Grand Rounds Seminars, the Fogel Memorial Conference (resident presentations and graduation)

* Meeting regularly with the Department Chairman, other Program Directors, the Department Administrator, and Divisional Chairmen as necessary

* Utilizing respective Divisional Chairmen as resources to enhance the program

* Delegating appropriate authority within the scope of the program to act on his/her behalf or absence

* Other academic and administrative duties as may be required by the academic relationships with related dental schools

* Clinical practice participation (diagnosis, treatment planning, consultative, emergent, and clinical management of comprehensive dentistry patients including outpatient and operating room care)

IF YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS, PLEASE APPLY IMMEDIATELY:

* Graduate from an ADA accredited school required

* Completion of a general practice residency required (preferably a 2-year program)

* Previous program management and clinical experience in a hospital setting required

* Eligibility for Dentistry license in Pennsylvania
