JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Position reports to Programs Director of Navigation & Surveillance, located in Overland Park, KS, and requires close coordination with other departments including Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, Business Development, and Contracts, and includes presentation of program health and status to Senior Management at both Thales Air Traffic Management U.S. and Thales Defense and Security, Inc.","Provide contract goods and services to the customer on schedule and at the lowest cost consistent with the contract requirements.
Ensure achievement of the contractual and financial objectives on all assigned programs.
Ensure compliance with all Thales program management processes and procedures, including development of program plans, task definitions, schedules, budgets, resource requirements and risk management on all assigned programs.
Ensure all significant risks of the Program (i.e. meeting the schedule, cost overrun, etc.) are communicated to management.
Co-ordinate activities with sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers
Ensure all out of scope directions from the customer and to suppliers are appropriately processed through the contract.
Identify contract requirements to and coordinate the activities of internal organizations and individual program team members assigned to the contract.
Coordinate and foster proper communication between the customer and the program team.
Identify and acquire additional business as a result of the program.
Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related technical field or equivalent industry experience with at least 8 years of Program Manager experience in the Air Traffic Management / Airline Operations / Airport Operations or similar.
Fluent English and Spanish mandatory.
Excellent organizational skills and work ethic.
Experience managing development programs for complex systems including management of requirement uncertainty and development risks.
Management of technical and financial risks and conduct of technical reviews.
Experience working in a multicultural environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to work in a team environment and interact with employees in all departments and functions.
Basic accounting and financial knowledge and profit-oriented business sense as well as effective negotiating skills.
Computer proficiency required and experience with Microsoft Project is highly preferred.
