UL's Transaction Security division is the independent go-to party for new innovative transaction security technology, for instance for contactless credit card payments or for mobile payments (NFC) technology. We help our clients to define winning strategies and convert these into useful products (for mobile payments, transit ticketing and electronic identification). We offer advisory services, security evaluation services, test services and test tools.



Responsibilities:



The Technical Project Manager is assigned to projects within the Products Department. This department designs, develops and maintains tools for testing smartcards and all related systems, such as point-of-sales terminals, ATMs, validators, host systems, switches, mobile devices, across a range of industries: payment, mobile, ID management, transit. Our tools are able to test products and ensure if a product works according to the stated standards and specifications. The team also delivers related technical consultancy to our customers worldwide.



The Technical Project Manager is responsible for a solid project planning and reports about the progress of the projects assigned internally and to the customer externally. You will manage customer expectations and satisfaction. You are responsible for heading the project team(s) as well as performing 'hands on' work. The projects concern standard and customized products and occasionally services by means of advisory on tools, implementing products, and testing. You will coach and lead team members to a good end result. You are also expected to be heavily involved in project activities that require a high level of expertise.



As a Technical Project Manager you will work in an international and commercial environment, cooperating with experts and product developers from within the Products Department in the Netherlands and United Kingdom and other UL colleagues located in our offices across the globe



Qualifications:

Responsible for project delivery from the point of view of timelines, scope, and the budget.



*

Responsible for the quality of project deliverables. This includes (among other things) ensuring clear and responsible choices concerning architecture, planning and framework of the deliverables.



*

Execute appropriate or high priority tasks within the project yourself, based on a 'hands-on' mentality and approach.



*

Make sure that during the execution of projects there is sufficient attention to matters such as drawing up specifications, writing (user) manuals, testing and quality assurance, support and application management.



*

Have close contact with the customer in order to achieve good internal and external management. Have good contact with project engineers to ensure good mutual understanding of the project-related technical matters



*

C oaching, mentoring, and leading the project team(s).



*

Completed Bachelor, Master or University education; preferably a technical study such as computer science;



*

Minimum of 3 years relevant and successfully proven experience as project or team leader;



*

Experience and willingness to work in a project environment with multiple parallel projects;



*

Proven conceptual experience/approach (architectural/product distinctive);



*

A 'hands-on' mentality and approach of working;



*

Attentive to detail and structure;



*

Strong coaching skills and leadership abilities towards project members;



*

Excellent communication and advisory skills in word and writing to be used in communication with customers worldwide;



*

Excellent proficiency in speaking and writing English;



*

Knowledge in the field of Mobile/Payment transaction technology is to your advantage;



*

Experience in one or more of areas such as software engineering, release management, version control, Java, XML, C#, C++, smartcards, secure systems, network protocols is to your advantage;



*

Flexible in travelling internationally.
