Job Description

The Project Manager will be part of shared pool of project managers within the IT Strategy and Planning department.
The ideal candidate is highly-motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic, and possesses a positive, can-do attitude. You must enjoy working in a collaborative, high-pressure, fast-paced, and deadline-oriented environment; bring the skills necessary to collaborate and work alongside a wide-range of different individuals.
Demonstrates an understanding of business sponsor's tactical goals and effectively participates in the development and implementation of business solutions. Manages project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques. Actively manages the work efforts of multiple functional resources through the project plan. Establishes basic scope control procedures. Develops documentation; monitors and reports project status; assesses the effectiveness and accuracy of documentation. Initiates and maintains reporting relationships with project stakeholders including team members, peers, managers, customers, vendors, and other affected departments to coordinate efforts across multiple business units and ensure continuous efficient management of projects; gathers input and feedback. Analyzes and reports project status and research information; monitors project performance to maintain the quality of services, deliverables, and content. Effectively assists in directing both internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines. Collaborates and communicates with other project managers and leaders to coordinate cross-project initiatives and activities. Identify and eliminate obstacles to solution plans, business goals or implementation. Assists in the development and implementation of contingency plans. Assist in the development of project budgets in compliance with the company s financial practices.
Position Summary and Key Areas of Responsibility:

Defines and manages the scope of work for each individual project
Develops and manages the critical path of projects and project master schedule
Interviews and places resources based on skill sets to complete defined tasks
Manages within the budget of the project including controlling scope creep, additions, progress delays, etc.
Reports and manages staff productivity
Participates in forecasting and planning sessions
Responsible for deliverables associated with managing projects including, but not limited to, a project plan, communication plan, project charter, and a scope statement
Manages the project team for each individual project
Counsels and coaches employees on improving performance and career advancement
Handles all escalated business issues and works with the business and team members to achieve resolution
Provides presentations on project status to project sponsors.
Manages the planning, development, design, and implementation of assigned project, including tracking schedules, resource balancing, issues, and tasks.
Ensures direction and support to assure effectiveness and efficiency of project; Implements monitoring systems for evaluation purposes, metric tracking and LOB reporting;
Engages in the typical responsibilities of a project manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling

Mandatory Requirements:

Must have 5 years project management experience
PMP certification preferred, but not required.
Must have experience leading and directing projects in the five process groups (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing) as defined by the PMI institute.
Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have demonstrated ability to interact on a daily basis with all levels of personnel.
Must be able to develop clear, concise PowerPoint presentations.
Must be able to identify and track metrics.
