Performs as Subject Matter Expert in Project Scheduling and Project Scheduling Tools (e.g. MS Project, for Project, PERT Chart EXPERT, Risk analysis, MS Project Server, etc.). This position is specifically responsible for managing Project Scheduling expertise as it relates to the application and use of data within enterprise Microsoft Project for scheduling and resource plan analysis of active and forecasted projects. Manages technical aspects of the use of the software tools and trains cross-functional teams in use of these tools to ensure program establishment and on-going use. The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing integrated master schedules companywide and support of individual program schedules. This position works closely with program teams to maintain cost/schedule practices and provide project schedule oversight for analysis and identifying impacts/risks. It also works closely with financial analysts on programs requiring Earned Value to establish and maintain in cost/schedule integration in compliance with the company EVMS. Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in project scheduling with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, 14+ years of equivalent experience may be accepted. Preferred Additional Skills:
Develop Top Level schedule format and application across programs for consistency in reporting. Implements Earned Value Management (EVM) in accordance with Exelis and customer requirements and ANSI/EIA Standard 748, including identification of EV methods for individual work packages, alignment with the Spend Plan, and tracking EVM metrics for complex programs. Determine and maintain a project schedule rhythm for status; reporting; tracking time requirements; establishing deadlines; monitoring milestone completion; providing timely reporting of issues impacting progress; coordinating actions; and, resolving conflicts. Develop and maintain common schedule templates in Microsoft Project for field definitions, global distribution and report generation. Monitor and improve schedule processes and procedures. Train team members on improved processes. Train Program Management, technical and financial personnel in project scheduling methods and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) to support program execution.Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
