The INTERNAL MEDICINE, CARDIOLOGY DEPARTMENT is looking for a PROJECT COORDINATOR.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

The Research Project Coordinator assist the Principal Investigator and the study team in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data and test results relevant to clinical research. Responsibilities include designing forms, monitoring protocol accrual, abstracting data, entering data onto protocol-specific forms and/or specifically designed computerized data-entry screens, assuring the quality and the integrity of the data, and providing investigators with interim and summary reports. In addition, this person can be responsible for the management of an electronic clinical data base system, including the training of users and the designing of basic reports. This person should exemplify Rush s mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

*

Serves as a resource person to the study staff including coordinators, investigators, clinicians and research assistants.
*

Coordinates patient visits and procedures.
*

Develops and maintains an organized, well-labeled regulatory and patient-source file(s) for study materials (e.g., participant charts, protocols, visit forms, correspondence, and other pertinent material).
*

Has a thorough knowledge Good Clinical Practice and relevant study protocols to ensure.
*

Attends Investigator, site initiation, and other training meetings and trains other staff members in appropriately following the protocol procedures.
*

Assists the Principal Investigator and Study Coordinators in following all study participants and in the recruitment of additional participants.
*

Responsible for documentation, data entry, document organization, and query resolution.
*

Maintains systems for participant tracking and correspondence; creates and interprets reports regarding progress of study.
*

Assists study monitors with auditing of study procedures.
*

Assists the Study Coordinator with tracking completed events to ensure appropriate sponsor billing and collections.
*

Performs other duties and assists other members of the team, as needed.



POSITION QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

*

High school diploma or equivalent required, but a college degree is preferred.
*

Experience as a research assistant, research data manager, or research coordinator is preferred.
*

Proficiency with personal computers, Windows operating system, and Microsoft Word required; proficiency in Microsoft Access or Excel is preferred.
*

Thorough knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) or a desire to learn quickly is required.
*

Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills required.
*

Excellent organizational skills and ability to use one s time efficiently with only minimal direction required.
*

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
*

Must be responsible and self-motivated.
