The Project (Design) Manager will be responsible for coordinating the engineering project design for future Particle Therapy products. This position will work very closely with Senior Project (Design) Managers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan and coordinate the Product Realization Process document delivery.
Perform project cost analysis.
Establish and report on project KPIs.
Work with cross-functional leaders and program core team (Marketing, Operations, Sourcing, Applications Training, and Customer Support) to ensure smooth transition from every stage of the project.
Establish strong operating mechanisms to track progress, identify issues, recover plans and overcome obstacles.
Work with Quality and Regulatory to ensure the program is fully compliant with the Varian Particle Therapy Quality System, FDA design controls, and global regulatory agency.
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related scientific field, master's degree/MBA a plus.
2 years experience in medical device industry, hardware, or software.
Cross-functional team management, design transfer and clinical system release experience.
2+ years of functional and/or program management experience in a matrix environment, across multiple sites, and through the entire product lifecycle (from concept to commercial release).
Good people management skills, including: leadership, conflict resolution, assertiveness, negotiation and influence management.
Strong presentation skills, appropriate to both management and customer audiences.
Ability to pro-actively foresee issues/risks and mitigate, report and, escalate as appropriate.
Demonstrate professional behavior & global mindset.
Proven experience driving through influential leadership.
Successful experience in motivating and engaging project teams.
Ability to travel domestically & internationally (approximately 35% of time).
