Summary
The Project Director is the single point of accountability for the management and implementation of the projects. This position is responsible for working with Business Partners or other parties to identify and implement medium to large projects that support achievement of simple to complex corporate goals. Controls planning and execution of the project's activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met. The project director works with minimal supervision and is responsible for applying advanced project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. The project director operates within defined parameters using a proven project management methodology with flexibility to merge different methodologies in accomplishing collective goals.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying and managing appropriate resources needed, and developing and managing schedule to ensure timely delivery
Responsible for managing project budget and achieving cost targets
Responsible for quality management and control
Responsible for the development and execution of the project?s communication plan
Manages project risks and scope and identifies and resolves issues which may impact the project results
Prepares and reports timely project status to appropriate stakeholders
Builds and leverages effective alliances across technical and business community


Education / Work Experience
CORE SKILLS:
- Seasoned project management skills and competencies
- Skilled at setting & driving strategy while staying focused on daily tactical deliverables
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Solid written and verbal communications
- Excellent planning and follow through
- Self management
- Savvy with MS Office, Visio, MS-Project and SharePoint
- Experience with Agile practices and Rally a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Information Technology and Project Management exposure/experience in the total Project life cycle with increasing levels of complexity.
- Typically possess five to seven years of Project Management experience in the total Project life cycle with increasing levels of complexity.
- Solid experience working in application development environment.

Technical Knowledge
Has a solid working knowledge of capabilities and direction of technology, coupled with the needs of business environment in order to support assigned projects / program. Uses this understanding of the business and systems environment to develop appropriate and timely solutions to daily issues. Has solid knowledge of varying technologies and/or application development and the ability to make decisions based on that knowledge.

Creates an atmosphere where business partner's issues are dealt with professionally, and in a timely manner. Suggests solutions that make sense and are in line with future technology direction.
