Project Engineer HVAC

Position Summary

Specify, design, implement, test and commission industrial HVAC and central cooling plant instrumentation and control systems. Provide technical leadership and application expertise in a team environment.


Minimum Qualifications

BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Seven or more years experience with industrial HVAC in an engineering role including startup experience

Experience with direct customer contact on technical assignments

Experience planning projects and leading a technical team

Able and willing to travel to industrial plant sites and participate in field engineering which may require climbing, working in confined spaces and other extraordinary work environments

Working knowledge of HVAC instrumentation and control systems including central cooling plants and chilled water distribution systems

Familiarity with industrial automation, ladder logic and ability to develop control algorithms

Familiarity with energy management and building automation systems


Desired Qualification

Further education in engineering, HVAC, refrigeration, project management or system performance

Industrial automation experience including programmable controllers, user interfaces and networks

Contract negotiations, purchasing, installation vendor selection and cost estimation
