Role Summary
Responsible for leading, planning, managing and directing a project team to accomplish the objectives of a project with limited, local objectives. Maintains working relationships with client functional areas outside of IT. Reviews, evaluates and formulates project plans, schedules and budgets. With client management defines the objectives to be accomplished by the project team. Directs systems analysts, software designers and programmers to determine the best methods to achieve the projects objectives. Allocates staff and budget resources required to achieve project objectives. Organizes and guides project operations through the use of systems development and project management methodologies accepted by the industry. Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training and support. Uses appropriate systems development methodologies to structure and organize the tasks to be completed by the team. Monitors and reports project status using established metrics against the plan. Keeps informed of technical and managerial advances in IT. Receives general supervision and is competent in all areas of project management. Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least four, typically six or more years related experience as a project team member of which at least one year was in a leadership position. Understand of team leadership, business practices and their application to effective project management. Strong analytical, communication and technical skills. Able to foster working relationships with the team and client departments.
Responsibilities
Supports EPMs (Enterprise Project Managers) that are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives. EPMs lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, BPO arrangements, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
-Supports the EPM in the execution of project management activities on a large project or program.
-Supports developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
-Supports the development of the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts.
-Supports the management of all aspects of the project life cycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project.
-Supports rigorously managing scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters.
-Validates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
