DUTIES
The Project Manager position is responsible for the management of a portfolio of assigned projects and the initiation, evaluation and development of work plans for new projects. The position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for multiple business and operational functions within the organization. In addition, this position will manage project managers within various departments throughout the organization and will assist with establishing processes, procedures, training tools and metrics for the Project Management Office department. Other activities and responsibilities include:

-identification and documentation of existing business processes

-identification of stakeholders, resources and accountabilities

-project valuation and alignment with strategic goals

-minimizing organization exposure and risk on projects

-determination of project business requirements in coordination with all stakeholders and strategic priorities

-management of project oversight, budget and performance metrics

-coordination of cross-functional activities and responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience managing complex projects in a managed health care environment and will possess excellent management, analytic, documentation and communication skills. Must be highly skilled with Microsoft Office, analytic tools and industry best practices. Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:
MBA or significant experience

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
Project Management Certificate

Preferred:
PMP Certified

EXPERIENCE
Required:
Minimum of 5 years experience managing complex projects in a managed health care environment and will possess excellent management, analytic, documentation and communication skills. Must be highly skilled with Microsoft Office, analytic tools and industry best practices.

Strong facilitation and mentoring skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to interact with various departments/project teams.

Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills; is dependable, enthusiastic, self starting and self motivated. Uses time effectively, reacts professionally under pressure

Ability to manage priorities across multiple teams/projects and possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment. Ability to work well independently.

Cross-functional knowledge of managed care principles, operations and cost drivers.

4+ years managed care operations environment

Preferred:
6+ years experience in project management and process implementation in managed care operations
