Job Description
The Project Manager will assist in the development, deployment and management of Partners-wide palliative care efforts. Palliative care is defined as patient and family-centered care that optimizes quality of life by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering. This individual will work closely with members of the Partners Palliative Care Committee including hospital palliative care departments, Partners Hospice and other post-acute care providers. Primary responsibilities will include management of daily activities, communications and deliverables. This will include managing project scope, developing project plans and resolving issues as they arise.
Major initiatives underway include: development/implementation of a Partners-wide I.T. database which will allow providers to view patient care preferences; development/implementation of best practices guidelines for inpatient/outpatient non-palliative care physicians; development/implementation of test "triggers" for palliative care consult to increase palliative care involvement with patients who would benefit.
Local travel may be required, and applicant must have access to personal transportation. Some meetings may be held during non-business hours.
Qualifications
Masters degree in a related field of healthcare (with coursework in analytics for healthcare measurement) preferred OR a Bachelors degree with substantial experience in an applicable career setting and position (3-5 years of healthcare administration management experience, including demonstrated data analysis experience)
Prior experience working on (or preferably managing) quality and or process improvement projects.
Excellent analytic and data interpretation skills, including demonstrated experience in summarizing the results of data analyses into actionable findings.
