Job Description

Sirius Computer Solutions, IBM's largest business partner and largest software seller, is seeking a Project Manager with eCommerce solution implementation experience to support our expanding customer needs.

The primary responsibility of this position is to plan and manage the delivery of applications or software that meets our clients business objectives. Incumbents in this position will be tasked with building customer relationships, project planning, estimating, executing, tracking, and implementing of the deliverables.

The Project Manager will work closely with the functional business areas, external customers, and vendors in defining application/project priorities, scope approach, resource requirements, timing, deliverables, and funding. The Project Manager will provide leadership and direction to the project team. The Project Manager will work with the Program Manager and Solutions Architect in the creation of Statements of Work (SOW) and estimates and in presenting those to potential customer sponsors. The Project Manager will travel regularly to client locations and may perform work both on- and off-site.

This role can be based out of any major metro area, and offers the flexibility to work from home when not at client sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the delivery of multiple consulting projects as a billable consultant. Provide proactive control of schedule, hours used and completion criteria.
Become the point of contact between Sirius and our customer and take responsibility for maintaining the high level of satisfaction that Sirius enjoys
Provide pre-sales support to the Sirius sales organization, meeting with potential customers and describing our solutions and project approach.
Assist with writing contracts for consulting services
Prepare accurate estimates for deployment and development projects
Work with, build, and enhance the Sirius team environment

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

:


Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Equivalent work experience is defined as 2 years of related work experience for every 1 year of missing post-secondary education, in addition to the required experience below.
Three or more years experience managing software projects
Experience in one or more of the following skills sets:

- Commerce software (WebSphere Commerce, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, Omnifind, Endeca, Unica, Coremetrics, etc.)

Other Required Qualifications

:

Strong consulting background including the ability to carefully manage own time, be a customer advocate, and become a \\"trusted advisor\\" while assuring Sirius' profitability and providing quality project management experience in a consulting environment.
One or more years experience in managing projects using the full software lifecycle development model
General understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design
Full understanding of the internet, intranet, and client/server architectures
Excellent ability to understand and explain technical material
Comfortable with establishing interpersonal relationships with Sirius sales people, partners and customers, up to C-level executives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Passion and confidence in this field

Other Desired Qualifications:

One or more of the following certifications:
CAPM, PMP, Masters certificate in Project Management, Masters Degree in Project Management
Background in consulting with IBM or an IBM Business Partner preferred
Project Management experience on eCommerce development projects required
Background in consulting with IBM or an IBM Business Partner
Experience managing IBM software implementations

Working Conditions:

General office environment and activities
Constant use of keyboard
Travel to various client locations and some weekend work required quantity varies by location
Air travel capability required
Ability to drive automobile under applicable state requirements
