Provides overall project support to Project Managers (PM) in support of campus construction, infrastructure improvements, or building renovations during and throughout the various phases of the project. Responsible for analysis, review and timely routing of all material related to projects during planning, design, development, and construction. Makes recommendations to the PM regarding issues concerning short and long-term projects, projections and solutions regarding procedures and processes. Utilizes project management software, assists in the preparation of periodic reports to campus administration and team members, prepares or compiles Preliminary (P), Working Drawings (W), and Construction (C) submittals to University of California Office of the President (UCOP) as requested by PM's. Acts as a liaison on behalf of PM's between all entities associated with the project, i.e., architects, engineers, building committees, contractors and consultants. Ensures all required project documentation is complete and in compliance with applicable policies; collaborates with Contracts Team to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of project documentation in preparation for project close out.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Valid Drivers License.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Previous experience in a higher education environment.
Solid ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.
Working skills to analyze information and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Knowledge of applicable University of California (UC) policies, procedures and the UC Facilities Manual and UCOP processes related to planning, design and construction for capital projects.
Knowledge of the construction industry, construction terminology, and processing of construction documents. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
