We provide 24/7/365 support from production hubs in London, New York (HQ), and San Francisco.
We are seeking sharp, detail-oriented proofreaders with excellent spelling and grammar skills to proofread translations for accuracy and readability. In most cases, you will also be required to format translations to match the original file. Hours are fulfilled on an as-needed basis and are not guaranteed.
SCHEDULE: Hours available for first and second shifts, Monday through Sunday
-Correct spelling mistakes and grammatical errors
-Format documents to match the original source (font, pagination, graphics, etc.)
-Clearly communicate questions or concerns with management
-Resolve queries associated with inconsistencies or missing text directly with the translator
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
-One year of professional proofreading or translation experience (legal or financial preferred)
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
-Advanced formatting skills in the programs listed above
-Native-level fluency in English
-Fluency and/or proficiency in one or more foreign languages highly preferred
-Demonstrate an understanding of Chicago Manual of Style
-Trados experience a plus
-Ability to work efficiently and calmly in high-pressure situations and adhere to tight deadlines
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
