Duties and Responsibilities
This position will focus on fund-raising priorities for the division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Conducts detailed research using public, proprietary, purchased or leased databases, newspapers, published materials and other resources to identify potential donors and funding sources.
-Analyzes and interprets biographic, business and financial information on individuals and/or corporations and foundations based on the University's fundraising strategies and objectives.
-Develops summarized and detailed reports and donor profiles for dissemination to appropriate Advancement staff.
-Uses prospecting tools such as data screening and modeling to provide analyses of targeted groups and overall prospect pool.
-Develops and maintains ongoing, collaborative relationships with Advancement staff.
-Conducts specialized research as needed to identify donors for particular campaigns or goals.
-Maintains well organized, accurate and complete internal databases for use by all Advancement staff and assist with usage as needed.
-Maintains strong knowledge of Loyola University Chicago's programs, projects, personnel and initiatives.
- May mentor or provide guidance to students and temporary helpers.
-Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Education or Experience
Bachelor's degree and one to three years of experience in direct research and prospect management or not-for-profit development.

Certificates, credentials or licenses required to perform the duties of this position:

Computer Skills:

- Must understand donor's rights and the distinction between public and private information.
- Ability to deal with confidential information in a sensitive manner; confidentiality required.
- Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to locate and interpret biographic and financial information from a variety of sources.
- Ability to work well under pressure, handle several projects simultaneously and re-prioritize as needed as well as strong experience with computers, online databases, and Internet searching.
- Understanding of information management in a database structure, particularly the ability to manipulate and retrieve data.

Communication Ability:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to synthesize high volumes of data and write concisely. Ability to work well with diverse groups.
