Kaplan College - Chesapeake Campus, is currently seeking a daytime adjunct Psychology instructors to join our staff of teaching professionals. As an Instructor you will provide your students with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level employment in their field of study. In our collaborative environment, you will prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and work habits for a successful career. You will work in a modern facility that includes spacious classrooms, student and staff lounges, business offices, a reception area and a reference library. The hours for the position are (5 per week at podium + prep) between 9am and 3pm weekdays. Days of week TBD.
What you will do:
oPresent facilitative, enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus and school policies
oContinually promote the development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making.
oProvide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects.
oMaintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance.
oPossess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all school policies, and actively participate in their implementation and enforcement.
oFollow all retention policies of the school to ensure students are in attendance.
oMust hold a related Master's degree, with at least 18 semester credit hours in the area of instruction
oProficiency in Microsoft Office
oStrong presentation and organization skills
oExceptional social and customer service skills
oAbility to interact effectively and professionally with students, parents, staff, and faculty.
oProficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
