RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The FRIENDS Child and Adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (Article 31) program description:
Program is integrated with the home-based crisis services offered by FRIENDS. It services children and adolescents ages 5-18, offering individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric assessment and treatment, and crisis intervention as needed. Services are provided on a short-term basis with an average length of stay of 6 to 12 months.
Provides therapeutic counseling for children, adolescents and family members enrolled in treatment at the FRIENDS Clinic. Works under general direction.
This position will provide eligible candidates with clinical hours and supervision necessary to work towards LCSW licensure.
Licensure: Current registration to practice as an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT or LCAT in New York State required
Education: Masters degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Creative Arts Therapy after successfully completing a prescribed course of study at an accredited graduate school and certified or licensed by New York State.
Experience: Two years experience working as a clinician with patients in a mental health setting including one year of experience working with children/adolescents and families required.
