Layoff Referral Deadline:
Develop and maintain training materials for BIP s self-service data exploration tools. Schedule and lead training sessions for new users and provide one-on-one training as needed. Schedule and lead training sessions to teach existing users about system upgrades and updates. Respond to user support requests of faculty and administrative staff on an as needed basis. Perform audits of data use by investigators; notify Program Leader and Program Manager of possible inappropriate use of systems by investigators; generate quarterly reports of all query activities. Monitor the systems to ensure reliability, accessibility and recoverability; verify that systems meet performance criteria. Support marketing efforts for each system. Work with investigators to refine their data requests, reconciling any differences between the data elements investigators request with the data elements that are available in our systems. Assist researchers in finding appropriate collaborators for multi-site research projects. Assist/advise investigators in obtaining IRB and Compliance approvals. Verify appropriate IRB and Compliance approvals have been secured for each data request before data extraction process begins. Collaborate with Data Analyst to ensure timely delivery of data requests. Facilitate the secure provisioning of data to approved studies at partner institutions. Track/update status of data requests in the appropriate tracking systems.
The following skills, knowledges and abilities are required: Master s degree or certificate in Health Informatics, Health Information Management, Epidemiology, Health Services or related discipline; Outstanding ability to communicate, interact with, and train end-users of various skill levels and backgrounds, both individually and in groups; Demonstrated understanding of health care delivery and clinical research processes, and the data generated by these activities; 2+ years experience with quantitative analysis; demonstrated skill in fundamental statistical analysis; Demonstrated understanding of database systems; The ability to work unusual hours in order to resolve critical problems or to meet or presentation schedules; The ability to effectively work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues; Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction; Demonstrated ability to manage time and to set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities, so that projects or tasks are completed on time; Ability to change, with direction, work priorities to accommodate changing requirements and/or immediate needs; Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, grammatically correct technical documentation and user guides in standard English text. The following skills, knowledge and abilities are preferred: Experience in adult education and instructional design; Demonstrated skills in conducting group training and individual tutoring; Demonstrated understanding of user support processes; Experience with user-centered design; Working knowledge of presentation, multimedia and publication software including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint; Working knowledge of computer networking concepts.
