Responsible for providing, managing and evaluating the nursing care of inpatients served by VNSNY Hospice. Provides care that is consistent with Agency philosophy, policy, goals and objectives, and Standards of Nursing Practice. Works under moderate supervision.

Licensure: License and current registration to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State required. Valid drivers license may be required, as determined by operational/regional needs.

Education: State approved Diploma in Nursing - OR - Associates Degree in nursing with at least one year of experience as a full-time staff nurse in a medical-surgical nursing area - OR - Bachelors degree in nursing from a State-approved diploma program.

Experience:Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience, including at least six months of experience in any of the following areas: hospice, palliative care, inpatient oncology, ICU, or Emergency Department, required. Bilingual skills may be required, as determined by operational needs. Strong interpersonal skills required with sensitivity to the unique needs of hospice patients.
