Job Description
DescriptionAnalyzes, models, designs, simulates, deploys, and tests communications systems, develops network architecture design, and supports development of communication networks for digital radio, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), and public safety systems using wide area and local area networks, point-to-point systems, secure systems, 3G and 4G wireless networks, digital radio/communications technology. The candidate acts as a member of an engineering team directed by a lead engineer and will be assigned to strategic initiatives and customer contracts within the Public Safety Systems and Solutions operating unit within Northrop Grumman's Civil Systems Division. Current efforts include strategic initiatives for FirstNet Public Safety, Dept of Energy wireless network technology studies, and network engineering support to public safety communications networks in NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia, United Kingdom, and other federal, state, and local public safety agencies.QualificationsBasic Qualifications: ? 2 years experience with B.S. or 0 years with M.S. (with degree in a science/technical field)? Training or experience in communication systems? Strong written and oral communication skills? Able to work in a team-oriented environment? U.S. citizenshipPreferred Qualifications: ? Masters Degree in an engineering discipline? Working knowledge or coursework in 3G/4G wireless technologies? Working knowledge or coursework in IP network protocols and devices? Experience in public safety communications systems? Cisco certification (e.g., CCNA)?
