Purchasing Manager

Brief Description
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Purchasing
Manager will provide superior tactical/strategic
implementation in the purchasing functions acting as a
coach/player role with the team. They will also
establish and maintain a high performance team focused
on supplier performance through score-carding, supplier
selection and consolidation, and spend analytics.
This position is located in Wheeling, Illinois a
northern suburb of Chicago.
Key Accountabilities
Meet/exceed net purchase price variance (PPV) targets.
Meet/exceed inventory reduction targets
Meet/exceed supplier on time delivery (OTD)
Sustain and continuously improve transactional
processes
Establish, negotiate and maintain critical long term
agreements (LTA s).
Implement robust quality delivery cost (QDC) metrics
and standard work for suppliers
Develop and maintain key metrics for daily management
Holding suppliers accountable
Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors
Bachelor s degree, preferably in business or a
technical field
7+ years experience in Purchasing, Materials
Management, Supply Chain and/or Sourcing
3 years of team leadership/supervisory experience
10 - 15% travel
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
CPSM /CPM /CPIM /CSCP is a plus
Demonstrated supplier management skills
Demonstrated negotiation skills
Demonstrated team collaboration
Lean manufacturing knowledge with practical
application experience
ERP implementation and business system optimization
Ability to analyze strategic options and their direct
potential and indirect impact on the organization
Project management and problem solving skills
Drive for continuous improvement
Experience in Identifying, developing and qualifying
new suppliers
Experience with supplier selection, supplier auditing
and supplier corrective actions
Extensive knowledge of ERP systems planning and
purchasing functions (currently use MS NAV-ERP)
Experience in contract management and negotiations to
drive PPV improvements.
