Quality Assurance Coordinator

SUMMARY:
Works within the Safety and Compliance Department's Quality Control Unit overseeing all
aspects of Current Good Manufacturing Practices at numerous location(s) to ensure that all
aspects of Airgas Standard Operating Procedures are followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

Quality Assurance for Specialty Gas, Food Gas, Medical Drug and Device Production Facilities

Ensure training and qualification requirements for all production personnel are maintained and current.
Conduct compliance audits.
Act as an investigator regarding Specialty Gas and Medical Gas Complaints.
Maintain complaintand non-conforming product trend reports to reduce complaints region-wide.
Conduct Site System Suitability Studies on any analytical instruments for which SAFECOR has produced Validation studies. (Must be performed and documented for each site.)
Analyze process functionality and effectiveness as it relates to meeting SOP requirements and product realization goals.
Assist locations with state and federal auditors during the investigation/audition process.
Initiate and Follow-through with continuous improvement projects and preventive actions
Provide support to production facilities as an ISO 9001:2008 liason.

RMP/ PSM Program
* Develop and implement a risk management program and assist in maintaining documentation of the program.
* Act as the primary facility liaison with state and federal auditors during the investigation/audition process.
* Conduct compliance audits
* Ensure that all aspects of Airgas Standard Operating Procedures are followed, all RMP regulations are properly documented,

Safety and Compliance

Assist Local Management maintain the Safety Management Program
Conduct internal audits periodically to ensure compliance

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A bachelor degree in a natural science or process engineering field or equivalent education and experience.
3 years experience in a Food and Drug related quality assurance function that requires responsibility to monitor a Food and Drug related manufacturing process.
Must be able to function as both a strong team player and as an independent consultant, as necessary, to help Airgas companies maintain a strong safety compliance profile.
On-going training required
Must be willing and able to do overnight travel 50% of the time.
