COMPANY. The company is an on-the-go snacks and food brand that's support health conscious living and active lifestyles. The company strives to create better snacks to help consumers make smarter choices for their health. They use the highest quality, natural ingredients that provide energy and complete nutrition, no matter where you are or what you're doing. The original bakery was opened in the 1960s as a private label bakery. In 2010, they developed an all-natural branded product line to spread the wholesome goodness beyond the bakery. Today, they make a variety of energy bars and snacks without cholesterol or dairy, all kosher. Their revenue has grown significantly and expect to exceed $125 million in this fiscal year. They operate two baking facilities and able to distribute nationwide. Their delicious stone ground whole wheat and gluten free power bars are a portable snack that everyone can enjoy. These snacks are a convenient treat to pack for kid's lunches, carry with hiking, camping, cycling, post workout food, or just as a healthy snack alternative on those busy days on-the-run or in-between meetings.


LOCATION: There is flexibility location between the company's largest production facility or it's Corporate Headquarters in Reno, NV



* Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
* Establishes raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures.
* Establishes in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods; devising testing methods and procedures.
* Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
* Establishes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
* Establishes product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
* Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
* Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
* Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
* Must be able to travel up to 30%.


* A four year college degree, preferably in Food Science.
* Baking Quality ExperiencePreferred
* Maintains quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
* Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


* Directly supervises employees in the quality area.
* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
* Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


* Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Food Science or related field, food process engineering, or Business Administration with related course of study or two to three years QC food processing experience.
* Been through SQF certification
* Create and manage a quality plan and structure -
* Total Quality Management, HACCP, SQF, statistical process control and analysis or related experience and/or training
* Ability to effectively train people and organization - manage on a multi-site basis

* HACCP and food safety management
* Ideal GFSI or FSSC22000 scheme and quality management systems

* Sanitation and Pest Control Management
* GMP and Personnel Hygiene Management


* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financialreports, and legal documents.
* Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
* Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality assurance leader
