Reporting to the Director of Corporate Quality, the Quality Engineer is responsible for driving continual improvement in KVH Quality management system processes

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Write reports to pull data from various sources, filter information, identify trends, make conclusions

* Report on product quality, reliability issues

* Write failure analysis reports

* Drive corrective and preventative action, continual Improvement *Interface with manufacturing, engineering, service to solve issues

* Measure and report on complex geometric parts

*Setup and Program CMM for measurement of complex custom parts

*Review, approve or correct mechanical drawings before release

*Communicate with suppliers regarding performance

* Advise on disposition of nonconforming products

* Audit Business Processes to ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System

* Assist as required in all Quality department processes

Qualifications:

* Prefer that candidates have a Bachelor's degree in EE ; PQE Certification is desirable.

* Four-plus years of experience working as a Quality Engineer

* ISO 9001:2008 lead auditor certification desirable

* Hands-on

Desired Competencies:

* Data Analysis Skills, proficiency in Excel, Crystal reports, etc.

* Knowledge of Statistical Process Control Methods

* Excellent Communication Skills

* Good interpersonal and relationship management skills

* Technical problem solving and business issue management skills

Good to Excellent Understanding of:

*Quality Inspection methods, procedures

*Mechanical inspection methods

*CMM operation and programming skills

*Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

*Reliability Assurance Methods; MTBF Calculation

*Mechanical/Electronic Assembly Standards

*FMEA

*Enhanced design validation techniques

*HALT/HASS

*Six Sigma

*Lean Manufacturing

*Problem Solving

Ideal candidate will match our job description as posted. However, we would also consider a senior electrical/software/hardware engineer who is smart and could be trained in Quality. We would also consider a QC Design engineer or manufacturing engineer.
