Job Title - Quality Engineer - Job Location - Rochester, NY (JROC) - Job Code RFCD11131057Harris RF Communications is the leading global supplier of secure radio communications and embedded high-grade encryption solutions for military, government and commercial organizations and a leading supplier of assured communications systems and equipment for public safety, utility and transportation markets, with products ranging from the most advanced IP voice and data networks to portable and mobile single and multiband radiosJob Description:
o Monitor supplier performance and develop action plans to improve performance.o Facilitate Part/Process Qualification by suppliers.o Support the Commodity Teams by regularly providing supplier performance data and suggestions for improvement and provide end-to-end visibility of the entire supply chain utilizing Quality Engineering principles.o Work with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure a smooth transition from concept to prototype to production on materials for new products.o Manage the supply chain to reduce variability, increase reliability and on-time delivery, provide end- to-end visibility of the entire supply chain.o Support domestic and global out-source activities as business dictateso Focus on problem prevention, supplier quality control, continuous improvement, data collection and reporting, along with Supplier Corrective and Preventative Action related to material quality issues.o Create First Article Acceptance Plans and methodso Manage material Inspection Plans and methods on production materialo Support New Product Introduction (NPI) team by assisting with the identification and evaluation of suppliers.o Perform Bill of Material reviews and develop mitigation plans that reduce the likelihood of quality or delivery issues.Qualifications:
o BS (minimum) degree.in Engineering.o 8-10 yrs Fabrication (castings, coatings, machinings, etc) experience.o Supplier evaluation and qualification experience.o Demonstrated knowledge of statisical process control, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, Measurement System analysis, Process Capabiity Studies, Corrective & Preventative Action, Root Cause analysis.Preferred Additional Skills:
o Communication (RF) Product experience is preferred.o Risk analysis experience is preferred.o Previous Quality experience is preferred.Please be aware that many of our positions require a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
