Superior Group is looking for Quality Manager for our Client located in Harrisburg, NC
Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and follow-up of an effective Quality System that benchmarks “World Class” standards and achieves customer recognition; coordinates ISO-9002 process to insure successful implementation and continued acceptance by ABS; conducts supplier audits, tests of raw materials, in-process materials, processes, machine capability studies and process capability studies; is involved in new equipment start-up and approves for manufacturing only after 3 sigma capability is satisfied.
Trains Associates in SQC tools and implements SPC at designated operations; prepares monthly reports of quality to provide feedback to Team Leaders and Associations.
Coordinates corrective action meetings on a regular periodic basis; provides timely and effective corrective action feedback to Sales and customers.
Serves in a capacity as Auditor for other facilities, as needed.
Documents, implements, monitors and facilitates methods for insuring the corrective action system is functioning in compliance with quality policies, procedures, instructions and ISO-9002 standards.
Facilitates the communication, monitoring and follow-up of the Quality Corrective Action meetings; reviews all open CAR’s, responses to CAR’s and follows up to take corrective and preventive action.
Develops, documents and implements methods for the control of ordering, controlling, safeguarding and calibration of inspection and measurement equipment.
In conjunction with the gauge control program, GR&R studies will be performed and records kept on inspection, measuring and test equipment. Insures periodic calibration audits are done of ovens, time and temperatures.
The introduction of any new processes, products or changes in processes or materials should result in the development of Quality Instructions or a revision to current procedures.
Collects the dollar values for all areas which affect the cost of quality; reports each individual aspect as a percent of manufacturing expenses; scrap, re-paints, re-work put in graphical form; provides feedback to Associates by work center.
Collects data on drums returned by Customers for defective workmanship; investigates root cause; identifies process where failure occurred; provides feedback to Customer and Sales on corrective and preventive action and charts as PPM by operation and total.
Identifies and prevents problems from reoccurring that have an impact on the quality of the product being provided to our Customers; identifies process problems through DOT-UN test, failures in field, process audits, scrap reports, Associates and CAR’s
Conducts monthly inspection of tooling from which we punch and flange parts.
Performs process audits on a periodic basis which will encompass BOM, applicable prints, QI’s, material identification, Customer specifications and associated tooling, fixturing and gauges.
Develops, documents, implements period testing to meet UN regulatory requirements; maintains records and communicates results; includes Chime Cuts, Drop Test, Hydrostatic and Stack Tests.

Knowledge of and experience in an ISO-9002 manufacturing facility or experience with QS-9000
Basic understanding, knowledge of and exposure to computerized information systems.
Basic understanding of raw materials, metal punching, forming and finishing processes.
Stand-up training skills; knowledge of adult learning patterns.
Knowledge of SQC tools, their use and application.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
AA degree in Industrial Technology, Quality Management or Business Management.
Minimum 5 years of successful experience as a Quality Supervisor, Facilitator or Quality Engineer in a metal manufacturing environment.
