This is a key leadership position, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This position will require an experienced Lean leader, preferably in light manufacturing with strong Quality Management. This position requires a leader capable of driving change in a fast paced continuously changing environment who can leverage strong interpersonal and influencing skills and buy-in as a change agent for the operations Lean transformation. To be successful, this position must work within the organization hands on and create value, embed a process oriented environment within the operation. Assure consistency, continuous improvement and achieve operational excellence in the Safety, Quality and Environmental disciplines.Duties and Responsibilities1.Responsible for managing and facilitating the company wide BRC program including but not limited to Safety, Quality and Lean initiative and strategy. 2.Provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels of the organization on the use and practice of Quality and Lean methodologies/Tools. 3.Support management in the development, planning and execution of BRC Certification, including the SQE disciplines and the metrics to support the progress. 4.Responsible for planning and assisting in the execution of various Lean kaizen transformational events and projects targeted towards improving the business s performance on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. 5.Core responsibilities include a cultural shift in focus on business performance improvements that yield zero accidents, defect free products, demand on on-time delivery, flexible manufacturing, cost reduction through Process Owners and Champions to drive results. 6.Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies. 7.This position will act as a key driver of change within the business, supporting the company and assisting in the development of a learning organization that understands, adjusts and grow with the business s Lean transformation. 8.Follows corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications. 9.Actively promotes adherence to corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications.Technical Behavioral Requirements: BS Technical Degree Bilingual Spanish preferred 3-5 years of process improvement experience in light manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years experience leading and executing process improvement projects in a dedicated Lean position. Formal Lean training and experience leveraging Value Stream Management tools, A3 , kaizen methods, standardized work, SMED, TPM and other key Lean tools and methodologies. Experience as the leader of value stream improvement projects that demonstrate the ability to reduce waste and improve cycle times from incoming raw materials to finished goods shipping. Prior exposure to a Lean Sensei mentor as part of development and Lean training Packaging process experience / background a plus Value Stream operations/process leadership experience as a plant manager or in a significant operations role. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Master Green Belt or Black Belt a plusSkill/Ability Behavioral Requirements: Results based Leadership style skill set with strong impact and influencing skillsTenacity and energy in leading change towards an effective work environment.
