Department: Behavioral Health Services

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides direct and indirect patient care in a therapeutic manner focusing on a multidisciplinary approach. Expected to participate in service development, as well as assume responsibility for personal growth and skill development. Must maintain expectation of Professional Performance Program in accordance with defined criteria of program.

Upholds the standards of behavior by displaying integrity, commitment, communication skills, customer waiting, sensitivity, and professional appearance when interacting with all customers whether in person or over the telephone. Supports customer care no matter what it takes behavior at all times.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse s obligation to provide optimum patient care. (Code of ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, ANA, 2001)

Apply critical thinking and professional judgment when following the Five rights of delegation: The right task, the right circumstances, the right person, the right directions and communication, and the right supervision and evaluation. (Reference: The Principles for Delegation ANA and NCSBN, 2006)
Expectations for assessment, treatment, and care of patients include specific training and competency for Neonate/Infant: 0-1 year old; Child/Pediatrics: 2-8 years old; Pre-Adolescent: 9-12 years old; Adolescents: 13-17 years old; Adult: 18-69 years old; and Late Adult: 70+ years old. (Administrative Policy ER-079, Position Description Format).

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Indiana or any other state with evidence of application for Indiana licensure Full-time Nights, Rotational Wknds & Hldys
