GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Working under the direction of PI, the research assistant is responsible for the organization, coordination, and conduct on a daily basis of technical activities related to orthopedic research.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supports investigators with primary cell culture experiments.

2. Maintains data notebooks.

3. Prepares reports on data as instructed.

4. Ensures ordering and stocking of needed supplies.

5. Assists with the maintenance of a clean, orderly, and safe laboratory.

6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS required. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities a must. The applicant should have a strong academic record, must be creative, self-driven, reliable, and motivated to learn. The position offers the opportunity for education and hands-on learning in orthopedic research. Prior training in bench methods is preferred. Ability to communicate with multiple levels of staff and to work effectively with others in a team environment. Small animal can be handled after institutional training. Competency with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint is required.
