JOB DESCRIPTIONGENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Working closely with the Project Manager and other study staff, provides support in the conduct of a large, multi-site, NIH-funded randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial involving up to 600 clinical sites across the USA and Canada which will recruit 7,000 subjects and follow them for 4-5 years.
Other responsibilities may include: participating in operational staff meetings, webinars, and Investigator teleconference calls and/or meetings.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assists with all aspects of start-up and conduct of a very large and multi-faceted trial of low-dose methotrexate vs placebo in patients who have had a documented myocardial infarction within the past 5 years and remain at high risk for recurrence. Will require assisting with maintaining direct contact with the 7,000 randomized subjects, with their enrolling clinical site investigators, and with the subjects care providers as needed.
2.Answers protocol questions posed by sites, ensures retention of subjects by sites, ensures sites have adequate drug supply.
3.Assists with collection of regulatory paperwork from the sites, including site selection questionnaires, IRB approvals, finalized contracts with Partners and proof of federal research assurance approval. Also includes retrieval of medical records in support of reported trial endpoints and adverse events.
4.Assists with preparation and conduct of investigator training meetings.
5.Shares responsibility for phone coverage to triage and respond to site queries, calls sites for missing forms or records, brings any issues or problems noted to supervisor for speedy resolution, and documents every phone conversation as appropriate.
6.Other duties as assigned.
