A postdoctoral position for candidates interested in biology of glia and glia-neuron interactions is available in the laboratory of Dr. Yulia Grishchuk at the Center for Human Genetic Research, Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. The laboratory focuses on the neurobiology of the lysosomal storage disorder mucolipidosis type VI using mouse and cellular models with the goal of developing therapeutic approaches. Our current efforts are focused on understanding the role of microglia and astrocytes in the pathogenesis of mucolipidosis type IV and testing immunomodulation as a potential therapy.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be directly involved in designing and conducting experiments, data analysis and preparation of publications. Other responsibilities include presenting data at the meetings, mouse colony management and supervising summer students.
