JOB DESCRIPTIONGENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, independently carries out and designs experiments with a focus in molecular biology and immune biology. The applicant will work on immune mediated diseases including tumor immunity. These projects involve murine models of transplant/autoimmune diseases in which new therapies are tested. The applicant must be skilled in all the traditional assays used in molecular biology and immune phenotyping. The applicant needs to be familiar with transgenic strains and knockout mice with reporter genes.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Researches, develops, designs, executes and interprets research experiments.
2.Contributes to scientific literature, reports, journals and presentations.
3.Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for research advancement.
The successful candidate will have recently completed graduate studies in an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD program with a strong research and publication record in the biological sciences, and background in Immunology and/or Pathology. Applicants should have experience working with mutant mice.
Strong research design and analytical skills in molecular biology and immune phenotyping.
Strong database statistical skills.
In-depth knowledge of immunology.
Excellent time management/organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
Normal laboratory environment.
