Job Description

Job Description

The Stuart Laboratory in Developmental Immunology at MGH is looking for a motivate individual to take the position of Research Technician to start immediately. Our laboratory is interested in immunology, particularly how we fight infections and how our immune system contributes to inflammatory diseases. We use a number of cutting edge approaches including confocal microscopy, transcriptional profiling, biochemistry, molecular biology and RNAi. We work in both mammalian and model systems such as Drosophila. Experience in any or all of the above areas would be considered a benefit. However, we anticipate the need to train applicants in these skills and hence wish a motivated individual who is ready and willing to learn. The ideal applicant will be a self-starter, able to work both individually and as part of a team. Additional responsibilities will include general managerial and organizational responsibility in the laboratory.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The applicant should be highly motivated and responsible, with a BS or BA in Biology or a related discipline. Previous laboratory experience is a plus, as is coursework in immunology and molecular biology.
