RFIC Design Engineer
Detailed design of RFIC circuits, including design capture, layout, test, evaluation and debugging of prototype ICs and design support for mass production. Provide leadership in product definition and be responsible for designing significant blocks of chip, including chip architecture. Must have a strong understanding of both RF and analog design methodologies. Will support product definition, manufacturing and applications engineering. Oversee and mentor other engineers in either a technical leadership role.
Education: MSEE or PhD
Experience: 10+ years in RFIC design.
Extensive experience with low noise CMOS or BiCMOS RF design, and microwave design techniques
Expert knowledge of engineering fundamentals required
Must be strong in circuit theory and analysis
Should have been the primary designer, including floor-planning and layout, on several of the following: LNAs, mixers, VCOs, PLLs, RF drivers, RF PAs
Should have knowledge of semiconductor device physics
Expert in RF testing and debugging
Expert with design, characterization, and modeling of RF active and passive elements
Strong experience with on-chip, package and printed circuit board (PCB) parasitic and design issues
Extensive experience in the design of high-Q inductors and capacitors
Significant experience with 3D electromagnetic solvers desired
Proficient with such tools as Cadence and SpectreRF, layout tools such as Virtuoso and Assura and/or Calibre. Experience with Microwave design tools such as ADS desired
Strong communication skills and demonstrated success in meeting design deadlines
A self-starter and team-player, with demonstrated success in a team environment
