Job Description

St. Joseph Hospital and Trauma Center is a 208-bed, acute care facility providing a full range of diagnostic and treatment services for inpatients and outpatients. St. Joseph provides comprehensive integrated inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and home care services through St. Joseph Hospital and Trauma Center, multiple physician practices and affiliated companies.
RN CV Center
Per diem
RN certified in Wound, Ostomy and Continence required 5 years clinical experience in Med/Surg is preferred

Summary:

Under general direction has authority, responsibility and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of ostomy and wound care patients on hospital units, in the outpatient clinic and for contracted services. Functions as a consultant for wound and enterostomal therapy needs. Participates in educational programs for physician, staff, students and clients.

Qualifications:

Education: Current registration with the New Hampshire State Board of Nursing. Graduation from
an accredited School of Nursing. Graduation from an accredited School of Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing.

Experience: Five years clinical experience in Medical/Surgical nursing. Wound, Ostomy and
Continence Certification by the nationally recognized Wound, Ostomy and Continence
Certification Board.

Job Knowledge:

Comprehensive knowledge of basic nursing theory and practice. Has capability
for patient/family pre-post procedure instruction. Is familiar with concepts and procedures relating to infection control. Is able to work under close supervision as the need arises, and follow verbal and written instructions. Is able to work alone, and makes appropriate decisions in patient care, teaches patients and caregivers the basics in skin a care and wound prevention. Is able to work and to function as an independent Wound, Ostomy and Continence nurse and consultant.
