Summary:

The RN Charge Nurse has primary responsibility for overseeing the planning and implementation of direct patient care performed by him/herself and other members of the health care team. He/she assesses the nursing care needs of the patient. As a key member of the multi- disciplinary team, the RN Charge Nurse interacts professionally and effectively with patients and their families, as well as with co-workers from all hospital departments and the medical staff in order to facilitate safe and efficient patient care.

Qualifications:


Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing
2+ years experience in Critical Care Area as Registered Nurse
Charge Experience preferred
Current license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
BCLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Ability to communicate effectively
Physical Demands:


Must be able to stand, walk, and sit most of the time
Must be able to use hands regularly to grasp and feel
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Work Environment:


Must be able to work where toxic chemicals may be present
Must be able to clearly hear alarms, calls, and instructions
