Job Description
University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center is a 25-bed, not-for-profit, acute-care facility that has provided quality health care to the families and businesses of Conneaut, Ohio, and its surrounding communities since 1922. This community-based hospital offers a wide range of medical and surgical services. UH Conneaut Medical Center is a federally designated Critical Access Facility, signifying its vital importance to the community in providing inpatient and outpatient services. Since joining University Hospitals in 1997, significant investments have been made in program, equipment and facility improvements, including a major renovation of the surgical unit. In addition, the hospital has immediate access to University Hospitals Case Medical Center centers of excellence. In addition to General Surgery, Neurology and Urology services, specialty services offered at UH Conneaut Medical Center include the Ohio Bone & Joint Institute, Center for Comprehensive Pain Management, the Center for Women's Health, and the UH Harrington-McLaughlin Heart & Vascular Institute.
Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain and sustain optimal health status. Essential duties include:
* Patient documentation
* Direct planning
* Community resource referral and education
* Actively participates in the quality improvement process
* Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co-workers
* Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment
* Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values
Position Requirements: Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (i.e. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices). Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.
Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
License Requirements: Registered Nurse with current license to practice in teh State of Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer candidate with background in cardiac related illness. BLS required. ACLS with in 6 months. Strong customer service focus.
