The Coordinator of Nursing Services has the responsibility and accountability for the clinical quality outcomes for patients/families, education, and resource management. The manager will take an integral role in planning, implementing, evaluating and providing evidence-based education to the Associates. He/she must have schedule flexibility and promote harmony and teamwork.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital as well as understanding developmental, cultural, gender and geographical variances. It is expected that this Associate demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Core Values and be supportive of the CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital Strategic Plan/Goals and Direction to Excellence. The roles/responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
Promotes collaborative relationship relationships among healthcare professionals; participates in Committees, Task Forces, meetings and activities to assist in the development of staff, ultimately resulting in improved care.
Serves as a resource person to staff.
Complies with incident reporting and notification requirements.
Attends/reviews department staff meetings for informational purposes.
Responsible for coordination and direction of prompt, efficient \\"patient flow\\" through the patient care delivery services of the hospital by providing a communication link with patient registration / bed control and the nursing units. Serves as clinical (expert) resource person in delivery and supervision of direct and indirect care processes. Provides competent leadership and direction for all hospital response codes and/or crisis management. Serves as agent for department and hospital executives when they are not present and reports concerns and events to the designated administration person on call.
In addition to the above, the Coordinator is responsible for leadership responsibilities for Nursing Services; this includes but is not limited to:
Scheduling and payroll
Managing training and education for the team;
Completing performance feedback and development reviews;
Hiring new team members
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN), obtained within 1 years of hire
Inter/intra-departmental coordination of patient care activities:
Delegation skills required
Ability to multi-task is essential
Strong detail orientation required
Computer skills required
Personal time management skills are required
Compliance with the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required
Demonstrates knowledge of and practices within parameters outlined in Louisiana Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act
Minimum of two years of nursing practice that includes sufficient clinical and leadership experience to ensure competence.
Knowledgeable of TJC standards.
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications
Current Louisiana RN License
National Certification in Clinical Specialty, preferred
