SERVICE AREA OVERVIEW

Our Medical/Surgical Unit at Northside Hospital provides acute and rehabilitative nursing care services to help our patients get back to their daily lives. The Med/Surg unit is characterized by a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere that stresses individual attention for all patients. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Medical Surgical Oncology RN will be responsible for managing the patient care of assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Medical Surgical Oncology Unit. As part of the Northside Cancer Institute we are committed to providing high quality and compassionate care while maintaining high standards that has allowed Northside to be recognized as a member of the National Cancer Institutes Community Cancer Center Program( NCCCP). The Oncology Department strives to maintain patient centered care that depends upon a strong focus on teamwork and an interdisciplinary approach. This is a progressive 16 bed Oncology unit that will be expanding and adding 16 more beds with the opening of our new floors in fall 2016!

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Strong RN foundation preferably in Oncology related area but will consider a strong motivated Med Surg RN with strong long term commitment to Oncology and the Oncology patient.
