Schick Shadel Hospital, a 60-bed alcohol and chemical
dependency hospital located in the outskirts of Seattle,
has been providing successful chemical dependency
treatment since 1935. The hospital, which claims the "#1
Success Rate in Treating Alcoholism" bases its success
on its unique and powerful counter conditioning
treatment program. The hospital provides medication
detoxification and an intense, short stay addiction
treatment program for alcohol, marijuana, cocaine,
methamphetamine, prescriptions opioids and heroin
Schick Shadel Hospital is currently has a RN Staff Nurse
position available. The RN Staff Nurse is responsible
for administration of patient care in accordance with
physician s orders, recognized nursing techniques and
hospital policies. The RN Staff Nurse receives report
from previous shifts and identifies special need of
assigned patients; prioritizes nursing care according
the patient needs; performs nursing activities which
promote the physical, mental and emotional well being of
the patient; orders medication as prescribed by
physician; performs nursing assessments on all new
patients; recognizes and interprets symptoms and when
appropriate reports patient s condition to the Charge
Nurse; performs a nursing discharge assessment on
patients just prior to discharge; keeps accurate and
complete records of nursing care; when appropriate,
participates in orientation of new nursing personnel;
and, assists in interpreting policies and procedures to
patient s and their families.
Applicant must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed
through the Washington State Department of Health and
have an interest in the field of substance use
disorders. B.S.N. preferred. Previous experience working
in a detox, a substance use disorder program or
behavioral health program preferred but not required.
New graduates considered if 3-4 yrs. previous experience
as an LPN.
Hospital pays differentials in addition to base pay for
weekends, evenings and nights.
