Responsible for the direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of nursing performance and activities related to the care and treatment of patients within the hospital on a specific shift. Coordinates the assignments of patients to specific units within the hospital. Assigns nursing staff to specific clinical areas within the hospital to meet patient care needs. Acts as the official representative of the management and administrative staff of the hospital in their absence.
Knowledge & Skills:
AGE SPECIFIC CRITERIA: The House Supervisor does not have a patient assignment where they are providing direct patient care. The role of the Supervisor requires that they remain competent to assist all staff with problem/conflict resolution, which has the potential to cross the entire age spectrum. In the event a Supervisor encounters patient, staff, medical staff, visitor issues where complex age related skills are needed, the Supervisor is a resource for additional information/employee expertise.
REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Registered Nurse degree; BSN required
REQUIRED: 2 years previous experience as a registered Nurse in an acute care facility.
REQUIRED: Director of Nursing Practice
PREFERRED: In charge of clinical oversight and administrative representation on off shifts, weekends, and holidays
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
