Facility: Houston Medical Center at Warner Robins
Department: Emergency Department

Primarily responsible for providing professional nursing care within the assigned unit. Coordinates plan of care with patient, their family and the interdisciplinary team. Ensures appropriate resources to all internal/external customers. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare.

Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Current RN licensure by the Georgia State Board of Nursing. Current AHA-BLS certification.
Sensory requirements include far acuity (see clearly 20 feet or more); near acuity (see clearly 20 inches or less); accurate depth perception (judge distance and space relationships); field of vision (see peripherally); accommodation (adjust vision to bring objects into focus) and color vision (distinguish and identify different colors). Should also have good hearing acuity (ability to distinguish sounds or tones). Requires heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 pounds). Prolonged standing and walking required. Assists with lifting, positioning, pushing or moving of patients. Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies. Requires manual dexterity and mobility. Occasional stooping, reaching, bending, kneeling and crouching. Must be able to function in stressful situations. Frequent contact with water or other liquid.
Requires contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances. Exposed to hazardous agents, body fluids and wastes. Exposed to hazards of handling diseased organs and tissues. Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness). Handles absentee replacement on short notice. Handles emergency or crisis situations as well as multiple job duties at one time. May be exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens. May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases. May be exposed to/occasionally to patient elements. May perform emergency care. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and injuries. Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases. Requires judgement/action which could result in serious consequences. Subject to injury from moving parts of equipment. Subject to many interruptions. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
