The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is looking for an experienced Radar Engineer who can think outside of the box and doesn t want to do the same old thing every day. This opportunity is within the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) Lab. SEAL researchers investigate and develop radio/microwave frequency sensor systems, with particular emphasis on radar systems engineering; electronic protection and electronic attack; ELINT; COMINT; MASINT; electromagnetic environmental effects; radar system performance modeling and simulation; signal, array, and data processing; sensor fusion; and antenna technology.
Grow your Radar expertise, help to architect solutions, build more Radar business. In this role you will utilize your SME in radar to win research work, architect solutions and deliver solutions to challenging radar problems. There will be a heavy emphasis on business development activities including briefing customers and writing proposal.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience delivering radar solutions as a system engineer, have deep theoretical radar knowledge, have managed IRADs, and have interest in business development.
REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Masters degree or PhD in related field or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- US Citizenship AND/ OR the ability to get a security clearance
- Expertise in radar, electro-magnetics, applied math or signal processing.
- Experience managing IRADs
- Experience briefing customers, writing proposal and business development.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Some work experience with DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and / or AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory)
- MATLAB expertise
- Ability to work in a research environment where there are many unknowns and undiscovered paths (ambiguity etc.) 1-3 people per project as opposed to huge development programs.
